Character Creation tutorial

Creating a character can be a very rewarding experience but many have failed in PWF as they characters were ill thought out. A bad character will not get you anywhere. Here we give you a few tips if you want to take this exciting path:

Name: look at modern WWE, most characters have either their real name or a realistic name. But be honest, if your name is John Smith, youre not striking fear into anybodys heart. Tie it into your gimmick, if youre arrogant and good looking, make it sexy, a tough man? Make it sound tough. If youre going to be foreign, give him an apt name. Do not mix your name with a real WWE star, John Austin would go nowhere either (hear that,Lemar Lesnar?). Possibly have a nickname in the vain of Stone Cold or HBK, again, tied to your gimmick. Do not pick names like 'The brawler', 'The Destroyer' or 'Destruction' etc, this is not the 80s or a comic book

Height: tie it to your gimmick, if youre a Mexican Luchadore youre not going to be 6 foot 5. Dont be lazy and go for a 7 foot ,car crushing monster either, be inventive, but not absurd.

Weight: strongly tied to height, make sure its not disproportionate. A five foot tall five hundred pounder will be laughed out of the company. Only go for huge weights if you are a giant or Sumo wrestler. All weights under 220lbs are Cruiserweights, also consider whether this weight is fat or muscle and muscle weighs heavier than fat.

Hometown: tied to gimmick, if youre an Arab, youll need an Arabic location, gangsta gimmick? Brooklyn for example. Your own hometown is an option but dont be afraid to add color to the character by being from anywhere in the world.

Entrance Music: make it suit you, dont just pick your favourite song ,pick a song that you think would make a great entrance theme. Try and pick a song that is familiar to people also.

Moveset and style: very important and tied in with everything else. Big men cant do what Cruisers do, Cruisers dont have the strength of big men. The Gimmick ties into moves too, for example Undertakers Tombstone, Austins dirty moves for a redneck. Be realistic, a three hundred pounder is never doing a corkscrew moonsault. The Finisher is most important, make it unique and give it a unique relevant name.

History: think about what your character was doing before he joined PWF, Where did he train? Who trained him? Does he have history with anybody on the roster? We DO NOT mean, your character was convicted of 16 murders in Austria as one persons character in another E-Fed claims. That is absurd.

Gimmick/Character: this is all important and this is what will make or break you. A good gimmick can propell you to the top quickly. By this we dont mean, he is a dustman or he is a truck driver, these sort of gimmicks do not exist in modern wrestling. What we prefer is what he is like, is he arrogant? A tough guy? A hardcore wrestler? A luchadore? Is he a rich guy? A racist? A street thug? Is he mentally ill ala Heidenreich? Is he several of those? Maybe think of why hes like that too, make him mult-faceted. Never make your character so bad that he can never turn face and vice-versa.
